Projects on the go

An outgrowth of the success of the COACH Study. The coaching and research team realized there was an unmet need for free health coaching services during the COVID pandemic and beyond. Simultaneously, medical students get very little practice during medical school in implementing preventative medicine and behaviour change with patients.  PLM Coach aims to help with both of these challenges.

The COACH Study - A pilot study of a digital health coaching program (COMPLETE)

An ongoing collaboration led by Brodie Sakakibara and Michelle Yang at the University of British Columbia Okanagan - we developed a telephone and video-delivered health coaching program for community members over 65 years of age during the COVID-19 pandemic. We trained 15 UBC medical student coaches to deliver the program, and have successfully run roughly 70 patients through the program.  Data analysis has concluded, publications submitted.

National Position Paper - Promoting Sleep in Medical Training

Worked with a wonderful group of fellow UBC medical students on a CFMS Position Paper advocating for greater emphasis on sleep as a key determinant of wellness among medical trainees. Recently ratified and published here.

The Stache Book

It's my belief that everybody benefits from a daily AM notebook sesh to organize their lives and keep on track with habits and goals that promote health. I used to use a moleskine, but the Stache Book is an experiment that is slowly evolving. You can see the first beta here.
